PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANTS:

• City Mayors and Deputy Mayors.
• People responsible for drug treatment services who participated in the Montevideo Technical City Forum, December 2008, or in the Montego Bay, Jamaica Technical City Forum, March 2009, or more recently, in the Göteborg City Forum in May 2009; or a person with similar profile and responsibility who acts as a professional in drug treatment. • Social Service Commissioners or those responsible for drug prevention and and/or rehabilitation programs at the city level
• Members of the National Drug Commissions. The participation of the national drug councils is an essential element of this initiative, as inter-agency cooperation involves national, regional, and municipal collaboration.

FUNDING:

The EU-LAC project will be covering the expenses of one (1) EU-LAC participant (corresponding to one of the first three above-mentioned profiles (accommodation at the designated hotel, and economy airfare through a travel agency arranged by CICAD for this purpose).

The city of Segovia is organizing dinners for all EU-LAC participants for October 15 and 16, and lunches for October 15, 16 and 17.
